In Massachusetts, the blood alcohol limit for drivers over the age of 21 is .08%. This is the same limit as the majority of states in the United States. However, it should be noted that driving with a blood alcohol concentration of .05% or higher can result in a conviction for operating under the influence (OUI) if the person shows other signs of impairment or if they are under the age of 21. Additionally, commercial drivers have a lower limit of .04%. Somone under 21 is driving with a blood alcohol concentration of .02% will also suffer additional administrative license suspensions.
