An OUI arrest, also known as an Operating Under the Influence arrest, is when a person is arrested for driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. This can also be referred to as a DUI (Driving Under the Influence) or DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) arrest, depending on the state. In order to be arrested for an OUI, a person must be operating a vehicle and have a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) above the legal limit or be impaired by drugs to the extent that it affects their ability to operate a vehicle safely.
